Never before has the simplicity of the rock - formed by the action of the continental forces and the deposit of limestone residues of ancient organisms, in an action that has lasted for millions and millions of years - must marry the most advanced production technologies. Edilcalce has become over the years a name known in the industry thanks to the particular quality of the materials and services offered. In the factories of Foligno (PG), excellence is sought from the very beginning of the production chain, starting from the quarry owned by the company from which the raw material is obtained. The company can boast over a century of activity and experience and, with its propensity for the future, bridges a bridge between tradition and innovation. It is already at the end of the 19th century that the first extraction settlement was born, located in a mountain area of the Umbrian-Marche Appennino, rich in limestone massif of Liassic formation. The extracted material finds a natural application in the production of calcium oxide, raw material for the hydrated lime which today represents one of the high quality products, the pride of Edilcalce.
Following its history, the 1930s represent an important moment for the company: the increase in sales volume leads to the construction of the first wood-burning oven for limestone firing: from 10 to 10 years a furnace was purchased. in the locality of Faustana di Trevi, which allowed a production of about 10 tons. per day of lime. Today Edilcalce produces sands and limestone aggregates for industry and construction, calcium and mortar, plasters, screeds and concretes, distinguishing itself on the market for quality and professionalism: each choice is always analyzed to guarantee the nature of the product, combining historicity with modernity of our plants.
